CanStruction 2023: Vintage Video Games – Space Invaders!

CanStruction is an international charity competition where architects, engineers, contractors and students they mentor, compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. At the close of the competition all of the food is donated to local food banks where the competitions are held. This year, JRP Architects joined several other South Jersey firms at the Deptford Mall CanStruction Competiton to create structures made exclusively of canned and other non-perishable goods. The theme this year was “Vintage Video Games”‘ and the result was a most creative group of structures that were imaginative reminders of “gaming” in the past! Thousands of cans were used in the construction, and all of them have been donated to The Food Bank of South Jersey to feed the many people in our community who struggle every day to put food on the table.
