New England Independent Living Proposed Project

Project Year
2020 - 2024

JRP Architects designed this project to be constructed on a pastoral site in New England. The plan calls for an innovative, sustainable community with a land plan that minimizes the building footprints to allow for maximum green space. The buildings are oriented to allow residents views of the natural environment and planned gardens. Maximizing natural light within the residences, common areas, and clubhouse will create bright and light-filled interiors.

The active adult community is planned to include apartment or townhouse living, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options available. It is designed to enhance resident independence and to elevate services. Clubhouse amenities will include a wellness and fitness center, and a yoga studio. A variety of indoor and outdoor dining spaces are an integral part of the design, along with a private dining/conference room. A bar, a cafe provide other dining options.

Residents can choose from a wide variety of activities. They may choose to enjoy the creation studio, or they might decide to practice their swing in the virtual golf /game room. A library, a billiards and card room, and a theater will provide additional opportunities for residents to gather and socialize. The community organic garden and the roof deck are designed to encourage residents to appreciate the beauty of the natural setting.

The innovative biophilic design and the beautifully appointed buildings make this independent living community a truly unique proposed project.
